The best, brightest and strongest are always chosen to serve as the strong arm of the law to ensure that the protection of the innocent is in capable hands. In a similar way, neodymium magnets are some of the strongest and most capable magnets on the market today and are therefore often the choice for heavy duty applications that require magnets with immense amounts of strength. It should come as no surprise that neodymium magnets are hard core considering they come from the most respected branch of magnet materials, rare earth elements. Rare earth magnets are all known for being exceptional.

Neodymium magnets are in essence the strongest of the rare earth magnets, which are the strongest category of magnets amongst all magnets. That makes neodymium the best of the best in terms of strength. This includes their strength to size ratio, which is not their only positive trait. Neodymium magnets also boast of having excellent resistance to de-magnetism and are one of the most affordable of the rare earth magnets. However, they can be more costly to make because of the complicated process that must be followed to make neodymium magnets in proper shapes for specific applications. The base element must first be ground into a powder then pressed into shape because it is nearly impossible to cut when in its solid state.

The amount of industrial applications that desire the use of this incredibly strong industrial magnet is immense, because neodymium magnets also have a few additional characteristics that make them attractive choices even when manufacturing them may cost a bit more. It is a material that is unaffected by corrosion, vibration, electric fields and intense heat, all of which are environmental aspects that can harm other magnetic materials. When less care for placement is necessary that means that manufacturers of cars, medical equipment, musical equipment and a variety of other products do not need to worry about the quality of their products holding up, regardless of the environment they are used in.
